BROUGHTY FERRY has again been named one of Scotland's top beaches by Keep Scotland Beatiful who praised its accessibility, good information and clean sands, as well as giving it an "excellent" rating for water quality.

Kevin Cordell convener of Dundee City Council's neighbourhood services committee said: "Broughty Ferry beach has always been a huge asset for the city and continues to be popular with visitors and locals.

"We tend to focus on the summer months when the weather is good, but beach management goes on all year round and work is continual towards the 25 criteria that must be met to achieve this high standard including well managed access and facilities, high standards of cleanliness, safety and community engagement reflecting the needs of users."
