Dundee's Vision for the Future set out in the City Plan

Dundee

Dundee nursery children helped to launch the vision for Dundee’s future as set out in the City Plan.

Key players from the Dundee Partnership joined the children at St Pius Primary.

In the lead up to the launch, pupils were filmed for a special film to highlight what they like doing in Dundee and what they would like to see in the future.

Dundee City Council Leader, Councillor John Alexander said: β€œDundee is on a journey – and you only have to look around this amazing city to see how far we have already come.

β€œThe City Plan looks to match this transformation for every resident, worker and visitor. We all know that there is much more to our city than just the Waterfront, with real investment and regeneration taking place in every community in Dundee – be it new schools, new council housing or other community projects.

β€œWe also recognise that there is still a way to go. We have never shied away from the challenges around deprivation and inequality. We are actively taking action to address and tackle these.

β€œThis is a really exciting plan that has been created after listening to the people of Dundee, and focuses on key priorities like tackling poverty and inequality, increasing job opportunities, improving the lives of our young people, addressing health problems and creating strong, safer communities.”

The City Plan builds on the work that has already been undertaken thought the collective efforts of our communities, private, public and third sector partners.
