Dudhope Park Parking

MOVES TO stop drivers parking vehicles on the Dudhope Park access road are set to be considered by councillors.

The introduction of a Traffic Order restricting parking on a section from the front gate could see double yellow lines and enforcement action in place by the end of the year.

Mark Flynn depute convener of Dundee City Council’s city development committee said: “Inconsiderately parked vehicles on this narrow stretch of road have caused access problems for people who work at or visit Dudhope Castle and other facilities in the park.

“Concerns have been raised that if there was an emergency fire engines and ambulances might not be able to get in and out quickly and safely.

“So by promoting this Traffic Order we’re starting the process of putting down double yellow lines on safety grounds. When that’s done if anyone does park there they will get a ticket and a fixed penalty.”

The report, which will be considered by the city development committee on Monday (AUGUST 21) estimates the cost of the exercise at £300.
