Robbie Casey, apprentice electrician, was presented with the Bill McKay Trophy on Wednesday (February 22) by Depute Lord Provost Christina Roberts.

Liam Brown, apprentice plasterer, was runner up.

The Bill McKay Trophy was donated by the director and work colleagues in memory of the late Bill McKay, depute director of Contract Services from 1984 to 1993.

The trophy is presented annually to the apprentice who has achieved the best results at college and work during the first and second years of their apprenticeship.

Depute Lord Provost Christina Roberts said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to present these awards to these hardworking apprentices.

“Dundee City Council has fantastic Modern Apprenticeship schemes that help young people to gain skills and qualifications.”
