Good to Go bus service07/02/17
RESIDENTS of two Dundee communities can look forward to a new bus service launching today (TUESDAY).
The Good to Go Bus will follow the route of the former Xplore Dundee number four service, taking people from the city centre to the Law and Dryburgh.
Will Dawson convener of Dundee City Council’s city development committee said: “The council is happy to be supporting the Good to Go Bus after representations from members of these two communities, particularly older people.
“Xplore Dundee does operate a service to the Law and Dryburgh, but the last bus up the hill is quite early, so we're trying to offer something as a response to feelings expressed in the neighbourhoods at public meetings before Christmas.
“We're hoping that passengers will make good use of the service.'
It will depart from the bus shelter at the Howff at 4.15 and 5.15pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays specifically for people with disabilities and older members of the community.
Factory Skatepark is running the 15 seat mini bus as a social enterprise and journeys from the city centre will drop passengers at 12 stops along the route.
Due to license conditions the service is a members' only scheme, but joining the Good to Go club is easy. Passengers can inform the driver on the day that they’re looking to join or they can phone 504848 in advance of their first trip.
