The Lord Provost, Bob Duncan, was joined by Depute Convener of Neighbourhood Services Councillor Vari McDonald to mark the start of LGBT History Month by raising the Rainbow Flag.

Since February 2005 LGBT History Month has been celebrated across the UK in order to promote equality and diversity.

During the month across the county there will be various events to celebrate the lives and culture of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and an opportunity to reflect on the continued fight for LGBT liberation.

Lord Provost Bob Duncan said: “Here in Dundee we are marking the start of LGBT History Month and to reaffirm our commitment to promote fairness, equality and diversity.

“We are a city of inclusion and I am very proud of that.”
