Roll of Honour Deadline Approaching23/01/17
The deadline is fast approaching for people to comment on a Roll of Honour which is being planned to commemorate Dundee seamen and women who died during World War One.
Copies will ultimately be on permanent display in the City Chambers and in Dundee Parish Church (St Mary`s) following the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.
Following a period of research, a draft Roll has been produced and is now available for inspection at the City Chambers, 20 City Square, and online at ttp://www.dundeecity.gov.uk/seamensroh
Organisers are asking for family members or relatives to help by providing details of any amendments, pictures, background information or further contact details.
The draft Roll will be available for checking until the end of January.
Information can be given to staff at the Chambers, online at the council’s website or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Hugh Macrae, one of the researchers, said: "The Roll covers anyone who was born, educated, trained, worked or lived in Dundee and its environs.
We want to ensure that it is as accurate as possible so welcome any information on names omitted, amendments, family and background, photographs, correspondence etc.
“We wish to build a picture of each individual and will happily copy any materials and return them safely to their owners."
