Local Development Plan 2 Consultation01/12/15
Councillors will be asked to approve a consultation for the new local development plan on Monday (December 07).
The plan will replace the Dundee Local Development Plan 2014 and will set out a strategy to guide future development within the city for a period of 5 years from 2019-2024.
To help inform the process and raise awareness of the review an initial consultation exercise took place earlier this year. The responses from this have helped produce the Main Issues Report and the Environmental report.
The aim of these reports is to stimulate debate on the main planning issues and to suggest possible options for dealing with these issues.
Will Dawson, convener of Dundee City Council's city development committee said: "The Proposed Local Development Plan 2 for Dundee is the blueprint that will guide future development in the city up to 2024.
"It shows which land is being allocated to meet the city’s development needs and where new development should and should not happen.
"The proposed plan will contain policies and proposals covering the principal land use issues in the city and will provide the context in which decisions on planning applications will be made."
A six week consultation on the reports will allow representations to be made by a wide range of interested parties.
If approved a report on the results of the consultation will be brought back to the City Development committee.
