Alexander Street Names01/12/15
Streets at the former Alexander Street multis site could be about to go back in time.
Councillors will be asked to approve the naming of the land north of Ann Street and south of Alexander Street at the City Development committee on Monday (December 07).
Annan Terrace and Kidd Street have been picked out as part of a naming consultation. These street names are of historical significance and have been used in the area in the past.
Annan Terrace could be making a come back and it also commemorates Robert Annan. Born in the Hilltown in 1834, he was once referred to as a ‘Dundee Christian Hero’.
Kidd Street could also be reinstated, after previously being used in the area.
Will Dawson convener of the city development committee said: “I would like to thank everyone who took part in this consultation.
“This is just another stage in this important development that hopes to bring further regeneration to the area.”
The public consultation for the street names was carried out between October 05 and October 19 this year.
