I RELIEF OF RATES - CHARITY RELIEF

There was submitted Report No 304-2000 by the Director of Finance seeking authorisation to grant charity relief on the undernoted non-domestic properties. The Committee approved accordingly.

II CONVENTION OF SCOTTISH LOCAL AUTHORITIES LEVY 2000/01 AND COSLA/QUALITY SCOTLAND FOUNDATION NETWORK MEMBERSHIP 2000/01

The Committee authorised payment of the annual COSLA levy amounting to 70,480 and membership of the COSLA/Quality Scotland Foundation Network amounting to 4,500.

III ANNUAL CONFERENCE - CIPFA

It was reported that the above conference would be held in Brighton from 13th to 15th June, 2000.

The Committee authorised the attendance of one member of the Majority Group, one member of the Major Opposition Group and one member of the Minority Group at an estimated cost, excluding travel, of 450 per delegate.

IV ACCOUNTS COMMISSION STATUTORY REPORT 2000/03 - OVERVIEW ON THE 1998/99 AUDITS OF LOCAL AUTHORITIES

There was submitted Report No 323-2000 by the Director of Finance appraising members on the contents of the Statutory Reports issued by the Controller of Audit of the Accounts Commission for Scotland.

The Committee noted the contents of both this report and the Controller of Audit's reports.
