The minute of meeting of this Committee of 20th November, 2000 was held as read.

I CAMPERDOWN HOUSE

 

The Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No 625-2000 outlining proposals regarding seasonal opening of Camperdown House.

 

The Committee agreed:-

 

(a) To remit to the Director of Arts and Heritage to agree detailed proposals for limited seasonal opening of part of the house and an associated catering facility in conjunction with the Friends of Camperdown.

 

(b) To remit to the Director of Arts and Heritage, the Director of Finance and the Director of Support Services to develop an appropriate lease agreement with the Friends of Camperdown.

 

(c) To remit to the Director of Arts and Heritage, Director of Leisure and Parks and Director of Economic Development to explore an annually renewable lease with Camperdown Golf Club, and

 

(d) To remit to the Director of Arts and Heritage to work with the Friends of Camperdown to prepare a Heritage Lottery Funds Access bid.

 

II TENDERS RECEIVED

 

The City Architectural Services Officer submitted Report No 754-2000 giving details of the offers received for the undernoted contracts:-

 

(a) CAIRD HALL - REPLACEMENT OF DEFECTIVE WINCH SUPPORT TIMBERS

 

The Committee agreed to accept an offer from Dundee Contract Services under the Schedule of Rates amounting to 3,029.25 to which required to be added an allowance of 961 for professional services, making a total expenditure of 4,490.25.

 

(b) CAIRD HALL - EXTERNAL PAINTERWORK

 

The Committee agreed to accept an offer from Dundee Contract Services under the Schedule of Rates amounting to 8,050 to which required to be added an allowance of 1,357 for professional services, making a total expenditure of 9,407.

 

(c) CAIRD HALL - SAFETY BARRIERS AND ACCESS LADDERS

 

The Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer by Adamson Fabrication (Dundee) Limited amounting to 5,849.50 to which required to be added an allowance of 986 for professional services, making a total expenditure of 6,835.50.

 

(d) McMANUS GALLERIES - GALLERY 4 ROOF REPAIRS

 

The Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer by Andrew Clark Limited amounting to 7,382.80 to which required to be added an allowance of 1,245 for professional services, making a total expenditure of 8,627.80.
