The minute of meeting of this Committee of 8th January 2001 was held as read.
Unless marked thus * all items stand delegated.
The Convener agreed that the undernoted item be considered as a matter of urgency in terms of Standing Order No 51(3)(b) in view of the timescales involved.
I LEADERSHIP ADVISORY PANEL - UPDATE
On a reference to Article VII of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 8th January 2001 there was submitted Report No. 46-2001 by the Chief Executive updating members on the latest position in regard to the modernisation agenda.
The Committee:-
(i) agreed to submit Section 9 of this report as the Council's position statement to the Leadership Advisory Panel and
(ii) agreed that a Cross Party Working Group comprising three members of the Majority Group, two members of the Major Opposition Group, one Member of the Minority Group and the Independent Member be established to consider information from the Leadership Advisory Panel and the Renewing Local Democracy Working Group as it became available in order to investigate the merits and demerits of changing the Council's current scrutiny and Committee arrangements.
