Concern was expressed by all members of the Committee at the recent problems caused by the delay in students receiving exam results from the Scottish Qualifications Authority.
The Committee agreed to gather evidence locally as to the impact this situation has had and to make representation to the appropriate authorities regarding the current situation.

The Committee agreed to remit the south east area of playground at Ardler Primary School to the Director of Economic Development for disposal in accordance with the Ardler redevelopment proposals.

The Committee agreed to remit the south west part of the playground at St Fergus Primary School to the Director of Economic Development for future disposal in accordance with the Ardler redevelopment proposals.
IX SUPPLY OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION EQUIPMENT

There was submitted Report No 529-2000 by the Director of Education seeking approval to accept tenders for the supply of physical education equipment for schools in Dundee and other sites in the former Tayside Region.
The Committee agreed to award the contract for the supply of physical education equipment for the period 1st October, 2000 to 30th September, 2002 to the following firms:
Alpha Leisure (Scotland) Ltd and David Low Sports Co Ltd.

(a) Barnhill Primary School - Nursery Extension (Mobile Unit)
There was submitted Report No 518-2000 by the City Architectural Services Officer giving details of tenders received and requesting a decision on acceptance thereof.
The Committee approved the acceptance of the offer from the Elliot Group Ltd, for the provision of a new mobile unit at Barnhill Primary School for the sum of 89,157.00 less savings of 25,547.00 giving a cost of 63,610.00 together with allowances of 15,905.00 giving a total amount of 79,515.00.
The Committee resolved under Section 50(A) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the public and press be excluded during consideration of the undernoted item on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of information which is exempt in terms of paragraph 5 of Schedule 7A of the Act.
XI REQUEST FOR EDUCATION AT HOME

There was submitted Report No 530-2000 by the Director of Education seeking approval for the provision of education at home for a Dundee pupil of secondary school age.
The Committee agreed to:
(i) approve the proposal for education at home, and (ii) instruct the Director of Education to monitor the child's progress at regular intervals.
