I DECLARATION OF INTEREST

There were no declarations of interest.

II EDUCATION (SCOTLAND) ACT 1980 APPEAL COMMITTEE

There was submitted Agenda Note AN16-2019 informing the Committee that it had been necessary to seek nominations for an additional Chairperson to chair the Appeal Committee.

The Head of Democratic and Legal Services advised that the undernoted person was recommended for the remainder of the lifetime of the present Council:-

Mr Derek Robertson.

The Committee approved the above.

III RETAINING RESERVED PLACES IN SCHOOLS 2019/2020

There was submitted Report No 108-2019 by the Executive Director of Children and Families Service, where reference was made to Article V of the minute of meeting of the Education Committee of 19th February, 2001, wherein approval was given to retain reserved places in certain schools to accommodate children moving into that catchment area during the school year. The Executive Director of Children and Families Service was required to review the allocation of places on an annual basis and the report proposed an allocation of reserved places for session 2019/2020.

The Committee agreed to approve the proposals to reserve places in schools as set out in Appendix 1 of the report noted below:-
