I DECLARATION OF INTEREST

No declarations of interest were made.

II EDUCATION SCOTLAND (HMI) AND CARE INSPECTORATE - INSPECTION OF MENZIESHILL NURSERY

There was submitted Report No 139-2018 by the Executive Director of Children and Families Service reporting on the above inspection of Menzieshill Nursery in November, 2017.

The Committee:-

(i) noted the contents of the report; and

(ii) instructed the Chief Education Officer to monitor progress towards meeting the areas for improvement contained in the report.

III HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE STANDARDS

There was submitted Report No 140-2018 by the Chief Social Work Officer informing the Committee of the new Health and Social Care Standards, which would inform future models of external scrutiny of health and social care services.

The Committee:-

(i) noted the content of the new Health and Social Care Standards as detailed in paragraphs 4.3 and 4.4 of the report and the appendix attached thereto; and

(ii) noted the planned approach to incorporating the content of the new standards into the scrutiny of the health and social care service as detailed in paragraphs 4.3 to 4.7 of the report.

IV LOCAL SCRUTINY PLAN 2018/2019

There was submitted Report No 138-2018 by the Senior Manager, Internal Audit providing a summary of the Local Scrutiny Plan 2018/2019 issued by Audit Scotland on behalf of the various regulatory inspection bodies responsible for scrutinising the services provided by the Council.

The Committee noted the information contained within the report and the Local Scrutiny Plan 2018/2019 appended thereto.

V INTERNAL AUDIT REPORTS

There was submitted Report No 118-2018 by the Senior Manager, Internal Audit providing the Committee with a summary of the Internal Audit Reports finalised since the last meeting of this Committee.

The Committee noted the information contained within the report.

VI 2018/2019 INTERNAL AUDIT PLAN

There was submitted Report No 119-2018 by the Senior Manager, Internal Audit relative to the above.

The Committee noted the information contained within the report.

VII DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL - AUDIT SCOTLAND ANNUAL AUDIT PLAN 2017/2018

There was submitted Report No 116-2018 by the Executive Director of Corporate Services describing how Audit Scotland would deliver the audit of Dundee City Council for the year ending 31st March, 2018.

The Committee noted the information contained in the report.

VIII LOCAL GOVERNMENT IN SCOTLAND FINANCIAL OVERVIEW 2016/2017

There was submitted Report No 117-2018 by the Executive Director of Corporate Services providing a summary of the above national report that had been undertaken by Audit Scotland on behalf of the Accounts Commission.

The Committee:-

(i) noted the key messages arising from the Audit Scotland Overview Report; and

(ii) noted the action points for elected members arising from the Audit Scotland Overview Report.
