At a MEETING of the DUNDEE CITY LICENSING BOARD held at Dundee on 20th April, 2017.

The minute of meeting of this Board of 23rd March, 2017 was held as read.

I APPOINTMENT OF CONVENER

As the Convener was indisposed, the Committee agreed that Councillor Hunter be appointed Convener for this meeting, whereupon he took the Chair.

 

II LICENSING (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005

 

(a) VARIATIONS (MAJOR)

Variation to amend local conditions for musical entertainment, remove current wording and replace with TV, background music during and outwith core hours, automatic music playback system, live performances/bands, DJ/disco and karaoke during core hours, amend on consumption to allow sales to take place from 11am to 1am, Monday to Sunday function suite only; allow off sale consumption from 11am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday; permit gaming during core hours; allow televised sport during and outwith core hours, and to amend access to children and young persons.

 

The Board agreed to defer the above application to the June meeting of this Board.

The Board, having heard from an agent on behalf of the applicant and the Executive Director of Neighbourhood Services representative, agreed to grant a variation to increase the number of hotel rooms within the licensed area to 148 and increase the on sales capacity to a figure to be afterwards agreed with Building Control.

Variation to add conference facilities, club meetings, live performances, dance on occasion permits, include activities, hours for sale of breakfasts, teas, coffees, snacks, conference facilities, club meetings and take-away food but not off sales of alcohol from 8am to 12 noon and throughout but not after core hours, add alcohol and food testing and matching, cooking/cocktail demonstrations.

The Board agreed to defer the above application to the June meeting of this Board.

The Board, having heard from the applicant on their own behalf and taken account of an objection, agreed to grant a variation to allow alcohol to be sold for consumption off the premises from 11am to 10pm Mondays to Sundays to patrons only.

The Board, having heard from the applicant on their own behalf and taken account of an objection, agreed to a variation to allow background music in the whole venue and DJ/disco in the basement only during core hours, restaurant facilities to be permitted outwith core hours, permit bar meals during and outwith core hours, receptions and club or other group meetings during and outwith core hours and to amend access to children and young persons.
