ll POLICE SCOTLAND PROPERTY CONSULTATION
There was submitted Agenda Note AN82-2016 advising the Committee that Police Scotland intended to consult on the possible closure of Ryehill Police Office.
Councillor McDonald, seconded by Councillor Cordell, moved that in response to Police Scotlands consultation on the possible disclosure of Ryehill Police Station, the Committee:-
(a) calls upon Police Scotland to abandon proposals to close Ryehill Police Station;
(b) notes that the West End Community Council has expressed its opposition to the closure of Ryehill Police Station and that a public petition with hundreds of signatures of those opposed to closure has been handed to Police Scotland; and
(c) request that should Police Scotland seek to find additional users for the Ryehill Police Station building, while continuing to operate it as a police station, any such proposals should be clearly set out prior to any public consultation process.
The Committee unanimously approved the motion.
lll CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION
There was submitted Report No 339-2016 by the Executive Director of Children and Families Services making reference to the report on Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) which was approved by the Policy and Resources Committee on 14th September, 2015 (Article X, Report No 325-2015 refers), which provided a 12 month update on the ongoing development and implementation of the local action plan to prevent CSE, tackle perpetrators and support vulnerable children and young people and victims in Dundee.
The Committee agreed to:-
(i) note continued progress made in the implementation of the local action plan on Child Sexual Exploitation;
(ii) approve newly identified priorities which would be progressed by the Child Protection Committee and Vulnerable Adolescent Partnership; and
(iii) request further 12 month updates within the context of annual reports on the Integrated Children and Young Persons Plan from 1st April, 2017.
Alan ROSS, Convener.
