I DECLARATION OF INTEREST
There were no declarations of interest.
II EVALUATION OF THE CITY OF DUNDEE ASPIRE PROJECT
There was submitted Report No 346-2016 by the Executive Director of Children and Families Service updating the Committee on progress being made with the ASPIRE Dundee Project.
The Committee noted the contents of the report and instructed the Executive Director of Children and Families Service to prepare an annual report on the ASPIRE Dundee Project.
III REVIEW OF THE SERVICE ESTATE
There was submitted Report No 347-2016 by the Executive Director of Children and Families Service where reference was made to Article I of the minute of meeting of the Education Committee of 12th December, 2011, wherein it was agreed that an annual update report on the school estate would be prepared.
The Committee noted the:-
(i) current, planned and ongoing improvements to the estate;
(ii) capacity levels across schools;
(iii) proposed review of reserved spaces; and
(iv) building safety update.
The Committee further agreed that:-
(i) in subsequent annual Service Estate reports include data on pupil numbers and capacity for Council nursery/pre-school sector; and
(ii) report to a subsequent 2016 meeting of the Children and Families Services Committee with reworked secondary school capacity figures based on each school's capacity S1-S6.
IV DUNDEE FUN AND FOOD HOLIDAY PROGRAMME
There was submitted Report No 348-2016 by the Executive Director of Children and Families Service detailing the learning from holiday programmes run in Dundee in 2016 and, in particular, the significant contribution of the Dundee Fun and Food Programme towards those programmes.
The Committee noted the contents of the report and instructed the Executive Director of Children and Families Service to bring a progress report to Committee in October, 2017.
