I DECLARATION OF INTEREST

 

No declarations of interest were made.

 

II EARLY LEARNING AND CHILDCARE ENTITLEMENT TO SIX HUNDRED HOURS: PARENTAL SURVEY REPORT

 

There was submitted Report No 300-2016 by the Executive Director of Children and Families Service informing the Committee of the outcome of the recent Parental Survey regarding the future delivery of Early Learning and Childcare.

 

The Committee:-

 

(i) noted the contents of the report;

 

(ii) instructed the Executive Director of Children and Families Service and the Head of Human Resources to continue to take forward the planning for this provision; and

 

(iii) requested that the Executive Director of Children and Families Service bring an updated report to Committee in due course detailing how they were offering places and improving flexibility year on year, based on consultation with local communities.

 

 

Ill JOINT INSPECTION OF SERVICES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE IMPROVEMENT PLAN

 

Reference was made to Article X(iii) of the minute of meeting of the Policy and Resources Committee of 25th April, 2016.

 

There was submitted Report No 299-2016 by the Executive Director of Children and Families Service requesting approval of the Improvement Plan within the context of the continued development of a collaborative, locality based approach designed to address required improvements and promote better outcomes for children and young people.

 

The Committee:-

 

(i) approved the Joint Inspection Improvement Plan and remitted it to the Dundee Children and Families Partnership; and

 

(ii) instructed the Executive Director of Children and Families Service to bring back the wider Childrens Plan for approval, which was required to be in place from 1st April, 2017.

 

lV HOUSING SUPPORT SERVICE INSPECTION REPORT ON THROUGHCARE AND AFTERCARE TEAM

 

There was submitted Report No 301-2016 by the Executive Director of Children and Families Service advising the Committee of the outcome of the inspection on the Throughcare and Aftercare Team undertaken by the Care Inspectorate in December, 2015, and the proposed actions by the Throughcare and Aftercare Team in relation to recommendations arising from this inspection.

 

The Committee noted the contents of the inspection report and the actions to be taken to address the recommendations.
