The minute of meeting of this Board of 18th August, 2016 was held as read.

 

I APPOINTMENT OF CONVENER

 

The Board unanimously agreed to elect Councillor Stewart Hunter as Convener for this meeting in the absence of Councillor Bowes.

 

II ALDI STORES LIMITED -V- DUNDEE CITY LICENSING BOARD - UPDATE

 

The Boards Legal Adviser updated the Board relative to the above. The Board instructed the Clerk to further consult with interested parties and report back to a future meeting of the Board with further proposals, relative to the Boards duty to assess the extent of any overprovision in its locality.

 

III POLICE SCOTLAND - ANNUAL LICENSING REPORT

 

The annual licensing report from Police Scotland was submitted and noted.

The Board, having taken into account an objection and a letter of support, heard from the applicant on their own behalf, and the Boards Legal Adviser, agreed to grant a variation to amend off-sales to be permitted from 5pm to 10pm, permit bar meals during and outwith core hours, amend reception and club or other group meetings outwith core hours, amend recorded music for customers and bar staff (low level) and amend access to children and young persons.

 

In addition, the Board agreed to defer the proposals for a change to the layout plan until the meeting of the Board on 27th October, 2016 to await Building Control approval.

 

V REQUEST FOR EXTENDED HOURS - GI GROUP

 

The Board, having heard from the applicant on their own behalf and the Boards Legal Adviser, agreed to grant an extension to 2am in respect of the Beer Kitchen on 1st January, 2017.

 

VI PREMISES LICENCES

 

(a) APPLICATION FOR TRANSFER - 2 MAIN STREET

 

The Board, having heard from the applicant on their own behalf, agreed to hold a personal licence hearing in respect of Stephen Tosh and defer the application for transfer both of which to be held at the meeting of the Board on 27th October, 2016.

 

(b) REQUEST FOR HEARING

 

The Board agreed to hold a hearing in respect of The Town House, 1 King Street, Dundee.
