I DECLARATION OF INTEREST

 

There were no declarations of interest.

 

II ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT SERVICE PLAN REVIEW

 

There was submitted Report No 416-2015 by the Director of Environment reviewing the performance of the Environment Department in relation to its Service Plan 2012-2017.

 

The Committee agreed to:-

 

(i) note the content of the Service Plan Review;

(ii) approve the new actions contained in paragraph 4.7; and

(iii) approve the new performance indicators in paragraph 4.8

 

III PURCHASE OF SKIP CONTAINERS

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN194-2015 advising the Committee that the Council provides a range of skip services to domestic and commercial customers as well as servicing the storage and movement of waste from Council recycling centres and processing sites. A number of skip containers were now considered to be beyond economic repair and in need of replacement, and additional skip containers were require to bulk load food waste prior to it being transferred to an appropriate food waste treatment facility.

 

The skip containers could be obtained through the Scotland Excel Procurement Framework Supply and Delivery of Waste Disposal Equipment 13-11. The skip containers recommended for purchase were from Skip Units, Sinfin Lane Industrial Estate, Derby and were detailed below:-

 

- Supply two - cubic yard demountable skip containers for the sum of 5,770

- Supply two - 30 cubic yard food waste containers for the sum of 11,117

- Supply four - 40 cubic yard demountable skip containers for the sum of 14,000

 

The Executive Director of Corporate Services advised that the total cost of 30,887 for the skip containers could be met from allowances within the Capital Plan 2016-2021, Purchase of Skips.

 

The Committee approved purchase of this equipment.
