At a MEETING of the EDUCATION COMMITTEE held at Dundee on 26th January, 2015.

The minute of meeting of this Committee of 8th December, 2014 was held as read.

I DECLARATION OF INTEREST

There were no declarations of interest.

II EDUCATION COMMITTEE - TEACHER REPRESENTATIVES

There was submitted Agenda Note AN4-2015, wherein reference was made to Article VI of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 23rd June, 2014, wherein it was agreed to fill the vacancy caused by the retirement of one of the teacher representatives.

Two nominations were received and following a ballot of all teachers, the following candidate was successful:-

Mr David Baxter, Harris Academy.

The Committee agreed that the above named person be appointed as a member of the Education Committee with immediate effect for the lifetime of the Council.

 

III INTRODUCTION OF FREE SCHOOL MEALS FOR PRIMARY 1 TO 3

 

There was submitted Report No 28-2015 by the Director of Education informing the Committee of the approach taken to implement free school meals for all Primary 1 to Primary 3 pupils.

 

The Committee noted the contents of the report.
