I DECLARATION OF INTEREST

No declarations of interest were made.

II DEMOCRATIC AND LEGAL SERVICES (PSIF ASSESSMENT)

There was submitted Report No 506-2013 by the Head of Democratic and Legal Services reporting on the results, key strengths and areas for improvement identified following a self-assessment utilising the Public Service Improvement Framework model for the Democratic and Legal Services Division.

The Committee noted the areas for improvement and the Improvement Plan.

III COMPLAINTS

There was submitted Report No 507-2013 by the Chief Executive on complaints statistics for the second quarter of 2013/2014 and updating members on the action being taken to ensure the effectiveness of the complaints handling procedure.

The Committee:-

(i) noted the key performance indicators on complaints closed between 1st July and 30th September, 2013;

(ii) noted the latest summary of findings from the Complaints Review Group which met to check the quality of complaints handling and to promote learning and process improvement from complaints; and

(iii) noted the results of the satisfaction survey sent to everyone who made a complaint which was closed between 1st July and 30th September, 2013.

IV INTERNAL AUDIT REPORTS

There was submitted Report No 512-2013 by the Chief Internal Auditor providing the Committee with a summary of Internal Audit Reports finalised since the last meeting of this Committee.

The Committee agreed to note the information contained within the report.

V CORPORATE PERFORMANCE SELF-ASSESSMENT 2013/2014 - REPORT FOR SIX MONTHS TO 30TH SEPTEMBER, 2013

There was submitted Report No 504-2013 by the Chief Executive advising elected members of the performance of Dundee City Council for the first six months of the financial year to 30th September, 2013 as defined by the Key Quarterly Performance Indicators.

The Committee:-

(i) noted that performance levels for the first six months of the financial year had generally been maintained or improved; and

(ii) noted that all Chief Officers should review the contents of Appendix 1 as it related to their service and consider if there were any indicators for which performance could be improved over the remainder of the 2013/2014 financial year.
