I LICENSING (SCOTLAND) ACT - REVIEW OF STATEMENT OF LICENSING POLICY 2013-2014

Reference was made to the fact that following its review on licensing hours for premises in the City, the Licensing Board has requested comments on the remainder of the Boards Policy Statement.

In particular, the Board welcomed comments on the following:-

- Are there any areas of the City which may be over-provided with licensed premises (either generally or of a specific type, eg. off-sales) and, if so, which areas are these?

- In light of the Boards new policy on licensing hours set out above, should the Board continue with its current policy of allowing an additional hour over and above these closing times at trade holidays, Christmas, etc?

There was submitted for the information of the Committee a draft report on alcohol availability and alcohol related harm across the City, compiled by the Dundee Drug and Alcohol Action Team, which was discussed fully by members of the Forum.

It was remitted to the Secretary to compile a response to the Licensing Board based on this discussion and a copy of this is enclosed.
