I DECLARATION OF INTEREST
There were no declarations of interest.
II CHILDRENS WELLBEING RESEARCH PROJECT
There was submitted Report No 440-2013 by the Director of Education advising the Committee that the City Council had been invited by the Scottish Government to be part of a research project to enhance the safety and development of children and young people by gathering and analysing comprehensive child wellbeing data.
The Committee:-
(i) noted the commitment and on-going work to integrate the 'GIRFEC' and 'Early and Effective Intervention' principles into all aspects of children's services delivery;
(ii) accepted the offer from the Scottish Government for Dundee City Council to be part of the Children's Wellbeing Research Project;
(iii) noted the funded element of 90,000 from the Scottish Government; and
(iv) approved a contribution of 46,000 from the Council towards the research project.
