I CASES SUB-COMMITTEE - MINUTE OF MEETING

The minute of meeting of the Cases Sub-Committee held on 29th March, 2011, was submitted and noted for information and record purposes, a copy of which is attached to this minute as an Appendix.

II CUSTOMER CARE OFFICER ANNUAL REPORT 2010

There was submitted Report No 201-2011 by the Director of Social Work on the management and operation of the Social Work Customer Care framework and the statutory complaints procedure during the year 2010.

The Committee agreed:-

(i) to note the contents of the report;

(ii) to authorise the Director of Social Work to publish it appropriately in line with the statutory requirements;

(iii) to note the forthcoming major changes to the complaints procedure as outlined in paragraph 4.8 of the report; and

(iv) that, as of 2012, the progress against the Customer Service Excellence Standard be the basis of the main method of reporting on Customer Care to the Committee(s).

III STANDARD CHARGES FOR LOCAL AUTHORITY RESIDENTIAL UNITS

There was submitted Report No 217-2011 by the Director of Social Work recommending the level of standard charge to be applied in 2011/2012 for local authority residential accommodation for adults.

The Committee agreed standard charges for local authority residential accommodation as detailed in Appendix 1 of the report.

APPENDIX

The Sub-Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted item of business on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 3 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.

I PURCHASE OF CARE PACKAGE BEYOND AGREED LIMITS

There was submitted Report No 183-2011 by the Director of Social Work requesting authorisation to provide respite at home and care services for one service user which exceeded agreed authorised limits.

The Sub-Committee authorised payment in respect of this care arrangement.
