I WHITFIELD COMMUNITY EARLY YEARS CENTRE

There was submitted Report No 318-2010 by the Director of Education reporting on the findings of the HMIE and the Care Commission follow-through inspection at Whitfield Community Early Years' Centre.

The Committee, having questioned the Director of Education and senior management, agreed to give further consideration to this report at the next meeting of the Committee on the basis that the Committee would not require management from the centre to attend.

II ST MARYS PRIMARY SCHOOL NURSERY CLASS

There was submitted Report No 319-2010 by the Director of Education reporting on the findings of the Care Commission inspection at St Mary's Primary School Nursery Class.

The Committee, having questioned the Director of Education and senior management, agreed to:-

(i) note the contents of this report; and

(ii) instruct the Director of Education to monitor progress towards meeting the areas for continuing improvement contained in the report.

In addition, it was remitted to the Director of Education to report back to this Committee on the suggestion in the inspection report that a fence be erected.

III THE ELMS - CLOSE SUPPORT YOUNG PERSONS UNIT

There was submitted Report No 256-2010 by the Director of Social Work reporting on the findings of the Care Commission inspection of The Elms Close Support Young Persons' Unit.

The Committee, having questioned the Director of Social Work and senior management, agreed to:-

(i) note the contents of this report; and

(ii) instruct the Director of Social Work to monitor continued progress towards improving this service.

IV THE ELMS - SECURE UNIT

This item was withdrawn.

V TURRIFF HOUSE CARE HOME FOR OLDER PEOPLE

There was submitted Report No 253-2010 by Director of Social Work reporting on the findings of the Care Commission inspection of Turriff House Care Home for Older People.

The Committee, having questioned the Director of Social Work and senior management, agreed to:-

(i) note the contents of this report; and

(ii) instruct the Director of Social Work to monitor the continued progress towards improving this service.

VI ADOPTION SERVICE

There was submitted Report No 259-2010 by the Director of Social Work reporting on the findings of the Care Commission inspection of the Council's Adoption Service.

The Committee, having questioned the Director of Social Work and senior management, agreed to:-

(i) note the contents of this report; and

(ii) instruct the Director of Social Work to monitor the continued progress towards improving this service.

In addition, it was remitted to the Director of Social Work to report back on the engagement strategy.

VII FOSTERING SERVICE

There was submitted Report No 258-2010 by the Director of Social Work reporting on the findings of the Care Commission inspection of the Council's Fostering Service.

The Committee, having questioned the Director of Social Work and senior management, agreed to:-

(i) note the contents of this report; and

(ii) instruct the Director of Social Work to monitor the continued progress towards improving this service.

VIII WHITE TOP CENTRE SUPPORT SERVICE WITHOUT CARE AT HOME AND CARE HOME SERVICE ADULTS (RESPITE)

There was submitted Report No 267-2010 by the Director of Social Work reporting on the findings of the Care Commission inspections of the White Top Centre.

The Committee, having questioned the Director of Social Work and senior management, agreed to:-

(i) note the contents of this report; and

(ii) instruct the Director of Social Work to monitor the continued progress towards improving this service.

IX MENZIESHILL HOUSE CARE HOME FOR OLDER PEOPLE

There was submitted Report No 257-2010 by the Director of Social Work reporting on the findings of the Care Commission inspections of Menzieshill House Care Home for Older People.

The Committee, having questioned the Director of Social Work and senior management, agreed to:-

(i) note the contents of this report; and

(ii) instruct the Director of Social Work to monitor the continued progress towards improving this service.
