I DUNDEE COMMUNITY SAFETY PARTNERSHIP - COMMUNITY SAFETY ACTION PLAN 2010/2012 -COMMUNITY SAFETY PARTNERSHIP COMMISSIONING BUDGET 2010/2011 LOCAL ACTION FUND

 

There was submitted Report No 208-2010 by the Co-Chairpersons, Dundee Community Safety Partnership, seeking approval for the Community Safety Partnership Action Plan 2010/2012, the Community Safety Partnership Commissioning Budget 2010/2011 and Local Action Fund Commissioning Budget 2010/2011.

 

The Committee agreed to:-

 

(i) approve the Community Safety Partnership Action Plan 2010/2012, as detailed at Appendix 1 to the report;

 

(ii) approve the Community Safety Partnership Commissioning Budget 2010/2011, as detailed at Appendix 2 to the report;

 

(iii) approve the Local Action Fund Commissioning Budget 2010/2011, as detailed at Appendix 3 to the report; and

 

(iv) note that the Community Safety Action Plan would be reviewed in March 2011.

 

II GRANT AWARDS UP TO £500 (2009/2010)

 

Councillors Barrie, McCready, Macpherson and Hay declared a non-financial interest in this item by virtue of their involvement with West End Community Council.

 

There was submitted Report No 192-2010 detailing awards up to the value of 500 that were made during the financial year 2009/2010.

To assist the personal safety work delivered to women's groups by Community Safety Manager/Worker.

Community Spirit Action Group

 

To assist in the ongoing implementation of the group's aims and action plan. This would involve various methods of engagement with the local community to seek and re-affirm views on local issues and develop appropriate responses. The grant would also cover associated admin costs.

Midlin News Group

 

To enable the group to place community safety adverts in six issues of the Midlin News. Contributions from Tayside Police, Tayside Fire and Rescue, Community Safety, Anti-Social Behaviour Team and other safety organisations.

Violence Against Women Partnership

 

To enable the partnership to hold a consultation day which gathered information from young people and children around their understanding of domestic abuse.

Balmoral Residents' Association

 

To assist with admin, publicity and postage etc.

Dundee Youth Voice

 

To help with the cost for Dundee members to attend the Youth Parliament general meetings.

West End Community Council

 

To assist with the annual West End Christmas week celebrations.

Dundee WestFest

 

To help with the initial start up, admin and publicity costs associated with the project. The festival would run 20th-28th June, 2010 and be an annual event thereafter.

The Discovery Award - Dundee Ancrum Group

 

To assist with admin costs, rental, travelling costs etc.

Broughty Ferry Development Trust

 

This was a start up grant to produce a leaflet to publicise the group, engage with the wider community throughout Gala Week.

Young Suits (The Shore)

 

To run a residential for the new Young Suits Group. This would provide the new group with an opportunity to learn from the experiences of the existing group.

The Menolej Experience

 

To enable the continuing existence of the group which has operated since 1991. This group of retired men meets on a weekly basis and the grant would help with minibus hire, stationery etc.

Highwayman Girls' Group

 

This is a group of young women undertaking a programme of activities under the theme of health. The grant was needed to buy materials and to pay for activities.
