The minute of meeting of this Committee of 25th January, 2010 was held as read.

I SEYMOUR LODGE REPLACEMENT

 

There was submitted Report No 83-2010 by the Director of Social Work seeking approval to agree the mechanisms for providing a replacement for Seymour Lodge which currently accommodated Child Protection Services in Dundee.

 

The Committee agreed:-

 

(i)                                         that the Depute Chief Executive (Support Services) be instructed to conclude a development agreement, a lease and sub-leases to NHS Tayside and Tayside Police and all other documentation necessary;

 

(ii)                                        to a partnership model for the provision of the replacement new build as outlined in Option 3 of the report;

 

(iii)                                      to the construction of a new building within the grounds of King's Cross Hospital to accommodate the Child Protection Services in Dundee at an estimated total cost of 2.65m inclusive of professional fees; and

 

(iv) that the City Architectural Services Officer be authorised to procure a contract  with an appropriate contractor within the overall allowance of 2.65m and that the Depute Chief Executive (Support Services) issue an acceptance for this contract following consultation with the Director of Social Work.

 

II TENDERS RECEIVED BY CITY ENGINEER

 

There was submitted Report No 62-2010 by the City Engineer giving details of a tender received for the demolition of Ward 6 at King's Cross Hospital.

 

The Committee agreed to accept the tender received from Safedem Ltd amounting to 29,992.
