II CULTURAL ENTERPRISE OFFICE - PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN239-2009, whereby the Committee were advised that for a number of years, the City Council had hosted locally based staff from the Cultural Enterprise Office within the DCA. These arrangements came up for review in August 2009.

 

The Cultural Enterprise Office had asked for continuing help-in-kind to enable its two staff based in Dundee to provide support to those wishing to establish small cultural enterprises or to students who wished to remain in the City and who were seeking to work in the cultural sector.

 

The Committee agreed that the following help-in-kind be provided to the Cultural Enterprise Office for a further three years:-

 

- Two desk spaces including storage, telephone and Broadband access

- Access to a meeting room for one-to-one advice sessions

- Access to photocopying facilities

- Access to the kitchen and staff room at DCA

 

There would be no financial implications arising from this arrangement. The photocopying costs would be reimbursed, as appropriate, and the department would continue to work closely with staff of the Cultural Enterprise Office, both locally and through its HQ unit in Glasgow.

 

III TENDERS RECEIVED - DUNDEE CONTEMPORARY ARTS - HEATING WORKS

 

The Convener and Councillors Lynn, McCready and Macpherson declared a non-financial interest in this item by virtue of their Council appointments to Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre Board.

 

There was submitted Report No 578-2009 by the City Architectural Services Officer, detailing tenders received in respect of Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre - Heating Works and seeking a decision on acceptance thereon.

 

The Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer from Taylor Mechanical Services Ltd, in the sum of 16,243, to which required to be added allowances of 2,602 for professional services, giving a total expenditure of 18,845.

 

IV TENDERS RECEIVED - MENZIESHILL COMMUNITY CENTRE - RENEWAL OF ROOF COVERINGS

 

There was submitted Report No 571-2009 by the City Architectural Services Officer, detailing tenders received in respect of Menzieshill Community Centre - Renewal of Roof Coverings and seeking a decision on acceptance thereon.

 

The Committee agreed to accept the negotiated offer from Dundee Contract Services in the sum of 79,079.19, to which required to be added 1,034 for CDM Co-ordinator and 14,458 for professional services, giving a total expenditure of 94,571.19.
