I WHITFIELD DESIGN FRAMEWORK - PROJECT DEVELOPMENT PHASE OF THE NEW THREE STREAM SCHOOL TO REPLACE WHITFIELD ANDNEWFIELDS PRIMARY SCHOOLS AND WHITFIELD COMMUNITY EARLY YEARS CENTRE
There was submitted Report No 173-2009 by the Director of Education to establish a formal structure of working groups to consider Officers' recommendations and the financial and educational implications associated with the development of the above Project.
The Committee approved the establishment of the following working groups:-
(i) a Project Board comprising Elected Members (Convener of Education and Ward Councillors), Depute Chief Executive (Finance), Chief Officers, Trade Union representatives and Parent Council members; and
(ii) a Project Management Board comprising the Depute Chief Executive (Finance), Chief Officers, Head Teachers and advisers as appropriate.
II PROVISION OF SUPPORT TO OUT OF SCHOOL CARE CLUBS, KIDS UNLIMITED AND THE INCLUSION GROUP
There was submitted Report No 177-2009 by the Director of Education seeking approval to provide funding to Dundee Out of School Care Network, the Inclusion Group and Kids Unlimited.
The Committee noted and approved the report and the:-
(i) funding of grants to twenty Out of School Care Clubs across Dundee which would be disseminated through Dundee Out of School Care Network;
(ii) provision of funding to support Dundee Out of School Care Network to improve their infrastructure;
(iii) provision of funding to Kids Unlimited to continue and further develop support to children affected by a family member's long term illness or disability or drug/alcohol dependence; and
(iv) provision of funding to The Inclusion Group to enable the continued support to children with additional support needs to access out of school care within Dundee.
