I CLAYPOTTS CASTLE PRIMARY SCHOOL (FORMERLY DOUGLAS PRIMARY SCHOOL) - DEMOLITION
After considering Agenda Note AN136-2008, it was noted for information and record purposes that because of a serious fire on 20th July, 2008, the Chief Executive in the interests of public safety, had authorised acceptance of an offer from Dundee Plant Company Ltd to demolish the former Douglas Primary School in the sum of 59,540, together with allowances of 16,400 for disconnection of services and contingencies and 10,000 for professional fees, making a total expenditure of 85,940.
The Sub-Committee noted accordingly.
II LOCAL BUS SERVICE SUBSIDY FOR SERVICES 69 AND 72
There was submitted Report No 384-2008 by the Director of Planning and Transportation advising of the proposed withdrawal of the current bus service Nos 69 and 72 and of the financial implications should the Council wish to seek the retention of these services.
The Sub-Committee agreed to retain these services and approved an additional subsidy of 9,500 for 2008/2009.
The Sub-Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted item of business on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 4 and 6 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.
III FUNDING AND STAFFING OF TAYSCREEN
There was submitted Report No 387-2008 by the Director of Economic Development relative to the above.
The Sub-Committee approved the recommendations detailed therein.
