I STATUTORY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS 2006/2007 - COMPARING PRESENT TO PAST PERFORMANCE

 

There was submitted Report No 419-2007 by the Head of Finance advising the Sub-Committee of the Council's performance for the financial year 2006/2007 as defined by the Statutory Performance Indicators and comparing it to that of the preceding financial year.

 

The Sub-Committee agreed:-

 

(i) to note the improvement in performance in 2006/2007 compared to the previous year's performance;

 

(ii) that the appropriate Chief Officers review the information contained within this report, particularly for those items where performance had marginally declined, with a view to improving performance in future years. Chief Officers should also ensure that plans be in place to improve poor indicators and that the authority have a Position Statement for those indicators not expected to improve in the near future;

 

(iii) that the audited Statutory Performance Indicators in Appendix 2 be published on the Internet and made available at the main offices of the authority for information for the general public and other stakeholders; and

 

(iv) that relevant departmental staff be thanked for their contribution towards the improved performance of the Council.

 

II STATUTORY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS 2007/2008 - PERFORMANCE REPORT QUARTER 1

 

There was submitted Report No 420-2007 by the Head of Finance advising the Sub-Committee of the performance of Dundee City Council for the three months to 30th June, 2007, the first quarter of the current financial year, as defined by the Statutory Performance Indicators.

 

The Sub-Committee agreed:-

 

(i) to note that performance levels in the first quarter of the new financial year had generally been maintained or improved;

 

(ii) that all Chief Officers review the contents of Appendix 1 to the report as it related to their service and consider if there were any indicators for which performance could be improved; and

 

(iii) that for any red colour coded indicators, the relevant Chief Officer would ensure that there was a Position Statement in place noting the reasons for performance not achieving target and any remedial actions in place to improve the performance indicator.
