Unless marked thus * all items stand delegated.

I LARGE ORGANISATION PARTNERSHIP PILOT (LOPP) BETWEEN DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL, THE HEALTH AND SAFETY EXECUTIVE (HSE) ANDTESCO STORES LTD

Councillor Roderick A J Wallace declared a non financial interest in this item by virtue of a relative being in the employ of Tesco Stores Limited.

There was submitted Report No 52-2007 by the Head of Environmental Health and Trading Standards reporting that a joint working partnership approach to health and safety enforcement was being piloted by Dundee City Council Environmental Health and Trading Standards Department in collaboration with its partner organisations, the HSE and Tesco Stores Ltd.

The Large Organisation Partnership Pilot (LOPP) Engagement/Improvement Plan was agreed at a meeting attended by representatives of the three organisations on 15th November, 2006.

USDAW, the main trade union for Tesco Stores Ltd and other workplace representatives have been consulted on the plan and they had agreed to support it.

The Committee agreed to remit the Head of Environmental Health and Trading Standards Department to participate in a qualitative assessment of the Partnership Pilot's contribution to improved health and safety through joint working arrangements over a two year period.

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted item of business on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 3, 6 and 9 of Schedule 7A of the Act.

II CIVIC GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 1982 - DEFECTIVE STAIR LIGHTING

There was submitted Agenda Note AN24-2007 detailing Notices which had been served on the owners of properties requiring works to be carried out.

The Committee noted that the Head of Environmental Health and Trading Standards would carry out the works should the owners not comply within the timescales.
