I NEIGHBOURHOOD MANAGEMENT - BEST VALUE REVIEW
There was submitted Report No 419-2006 by the Assistant Chief Executive (Community Planning) to seek approval to implement the recommendations of the Best Value Review of Estate Management.
Members noted that the Best Value Group of Estate Management had met with the objective of examining current methods of managing the streetscape and landscape in local neighbourhoods in order to provide a more comprehensive and responsible service to Dundee's citizens. The outcome of this meeting was detailed in the report.
The Sub-Committee approved the implementation of the improvement proposals set out in Section 8 of this report.
II BEST VALUE REVIEW OF INFORMATION AND ADVICE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
There was submitted Report No 494-2006 by the Director of Economic Development.
Reference was made to Article I of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 19th August, 2003 and Article II of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 16th March, 2005, whereby the Sub-Committee agreed a programme of best value reviews, including a review on the topic - "is the variety of organisations that inform and advise young people leaving school delivering best value?"
A review group was established under the chairmanship of the Director of Economic Development, which included representatives from the University of Abertay, University of Dundee, Dundee College, Careers Scotland and the Education, Leisure and Communities and Economic Development Departments.
The outcome of the review group was detailed in the report.
The Sub-Committee approved that the improvement proposals set out in Section 7 of this report be implemented.
