I DUNDEE AIRPORT
(a) CAPITAL EXPENDITURE PLAN 2006-2007 AND INDICATIVE FORWARD PROGRAMME TO 2009-2010
The Director of Economic Development submitted Report No 234-2006 requesting approval for a programme of Capital Investment for Dundee Airport on a definitive basis for 2006-2007 and on an outline basis for the three subsequent years.
The Committee approved the report and remitted to the Director of Economic Development to implement the programme of works.
(b) CONSTRUCTION OF A FIRE TRAINING GROUND
On a reference to Article II(a) of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 12th September, 2005, the Director of Economic Development submitted Report No 233-2006 seeking approval for the second phase of construction of a fire training ground at Dundee Airport.
The Committee approved the second phase of the scheme involving a contract for the manufacture and installation of a fire training rig plus further ground works and service installations.
The Committee agreed to accept the specialist offer by Simulation TERS Ltd, Burton-on-Trent for the manufacture of a twenty metre long propane fuelled fire training rig and also approved the continuation by Tayside Contracts within the Partnership Agreement of the complex site works and services required.
(c) REFURBISHMENT OF THE AIRPORT FRICTION TESTER
The Director of Economic Development submitted Report No 246-2006 requesting approval for a contract to refurbish the airport's runway friction tester.
The Committee agreed to accept the offer by Douglas Equipment Ltd, Cheltenham for the refurbishment and upgrading of the current Mark 5 Friction Tester to Mark 6 standard at a cost of 9,695 plus transport and training costs, making a total expected expenditure of 11,100.
The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.
