I SUB-CONTRACTOR AND SUPPLY OF MATERIALS

There was submitted Report No 718-2005 by the Director of Dundee Contract Services detailing Sub-Contractors and suppliers of materials to Dundee Contract Services for the value of 10,000 and over.

The Committee noted the contents of the report.

II PLAY AREA IMPROVEMENTS 2005-2006

There was submitted Report No 722-2005 by the Director of Dundee Contract Services requesting Committee approval for Dundee Contract Services to carry out the programme for the next phase of Play Area Improvements.

The Committee agreed:-

(i) the planned programme of improvements to three play areas in the City for 2005/2006 as shown below:-

(1) Foula Terrace Play Area - Mill O'Mains - estimated cost 29,087

(2) Whitfield Green (East) Play Area - estimated cost 27,353

(3) Marlee Road Play Area - estimated cost 44,560; and

(ii) that the work be carried out by Dundee Contract Services.

III CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUNDS AND LANDSCAPING OF SITES

There was submitted Agenda Note AN463-2005 informing the Committee that over the last few years a number of children's playgrounds had been closed or reduced in size as part of the Council's programme on the rationalisation of playgrounds and that the undernoted had to be landscaped to simplify maintenance:-

In addition, the undernoted would remain as playgrounds and had already been partly modernised but required some improvements to the surrounding landscape:-

The Committee agreed that Dundee Contract Services carry out the works.

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted item of business on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 6 and 9 of Schedule 7A of the Act.

IV GROUND AT 10 GORDON COURT, DUNDEE

There was submitted Report No 684-2005 by the Director of Economic Development seeking approval to sell ground at 10 Gordon Court, Dundee.

The Committee approved the sale of ground at the agreed price.
