I WASTE MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT SERVICE PLAN PERFORMANCE REPORT 2003/2004

 

There was submitted Report No 494-2004 by the Head of Waste Management reporting on the performance of the Waste Management Department against its Service Plan for 2004/2007.

 

The Committee agreed that the report be noted.

 

II GAS FLOW TRIAL AT RIVERSIDE

 

There was submitted Report No 592-2004 by the Head of Waste Management seeking authority to conduct a gas flow trial at Riverside.

 

The Committee agreed:-

 

(i) that the offer received from McKeighley Ltd amounting to 20,700 be accepted; and

 

(ii) that, it be noted that the offer from McKeighley was based upon price and that the company had visited the site to evaluate the task and had demonstrated that they had development experience to undertake the task.

 

III REPLACEMENT OF BOUNDARY FENCE

 

There was submitted Report No 591-2004 by the Head of Waste Management seeking authority to replace the westmost perimeter fence at the Waste Management Department's Marchbanks Depot.

 

The Committee agreed:-

 

(i) that the offer received from Delson Contracts Ltd amounting to 20,740 for excavation works, supply and installation of gabion baskets be accepted; and

 

(ii) that the offer received from J B Corrie & Co amounting to 12,381 for the supply of fencing be accepted.

 

IV SCOTTISH ACCIDENT PREVENTION COUNCIL - 55TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE - 13TH TO 14TH SEPTEMBER, 2004

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN322-2004 reporting that the 55th annual conference of the Scottish Accident Prevention Council would be held on 13th to 14th September, 2004 at the Crieff Hydro Hotel and that the cost of day attendance would be approximately 75 per person, excluding travel and subsistence allowances.

 

The Committee agreed that attendance at the conference be on the basis of the Convener or her nominee.

 

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted item of business on the grounds that this would involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 3, 6 and 9 of Part 1 of Schedule 7(A) to the above Act.

 

V CIVIC GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 1982 BUILDINGS IN NEED OF REPAIR - SECTION 87(1)

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN323-2004 reporting that notices had been served on the owners of various properties requiring works to be carried out.

 

The Committee agreed that the Head of Environmental Health and Trading Standards be authorised to carry out the works should the owners not comply within the time period allowed in the notices.
