I REVENUE BUDGET 2004/05

 

At the start of the meeting the Depute Chief Executive (Finance) intimated that on Page 2 of the Review of Charges for Education the increase for school meal charges would take effect from 18th August 2004 and not 1st April 2004 therefore reducing the additional income for 2004/2005 to 34,000.

 

Reference was made to Article II of the minute of meeting of the Policy and Resources Committee of 19th January 2004.

 

The Committee had before them Provisional Revenue Budget Volume 2004/05 and Review of Charges 2004/05.

 

The Committee:-

 

(i) noted the contents of the Education Department's Provisional 2004/05 Revenue Budget as set out in pages 3 to 13 of the Budget Volume issued to the Committee on 24th December 2003;

 

(ii) noted the Review of Charges relating to the Education Department as detailed on page 2 of the Review of Charges document that was issued to the Committee on 24th December 2003; and

 

(iii) remitted the following amendment to the 2004/05 Review of Charges by the SNP Group to the Special Policy and Resources Committee for its consideration:-

 

"Page 2 - no increase in Primary School meal charges 20,000"
