I EXCLUSION OF PUBLIC AND PRESS

The Depute Chief Executive (Support Services) intimated that the Committee may resolve under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted item of business on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.

Councillor FitzPatrick, seconded by Councillor Corrigan moved that the press and public be not excluded from the meeting.

As an amendment, Councillor Shimi, seconded by Councillor Grant moved that the press and public be excluded from the meeting.

On a division, there voted for the motion - Councillors Don, Duncan, Beattie, Sawers, FitzPatrick, Roberts, Barrie and Fordyce and Bailies Corrigan and Borthwick (10); and for the amendment - Lord Provost Letford, Bailies Farquhar and Powrie and Councillors Shimi, Keenan, Regan, Sturrock, Grant, Hind, Morrow, Macpherson, Dick, Wallace, Webster and Scott (15) - whereupon the amendment was declared carried.

II PROPOSED CORPORATE RECRUITMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

There was submitted Report No 826-2003 by the Assistant Chief Executive (Management) relative to the above.

The Committee approved the recommendations detailed therein.
