I FIREWORKS ACT 2003
There was submitted Report No 781-2003 by the Depute Chief Executive (Support Services) advising the Committee of the publication of a consultation document under the Fireworks Act 2003.
The Committee welcomed the proposal to create the criminal offences detailed in paragraph 6.3 of the report and noted that further reports would be brought before the Committee as appropriate in due course.
II THE SOCIAL WORK DEPARTMENT'S AND DUNDEE CHILD PROTECTION COMMITTEE'S RESPONSES TORECENT CHILD PROTECTION REVIEW AND INQUIRY REPORTS
There was submitted Report No 762-2003 by the Chief Executive and Director of Social Work relative to the above.
The Committee:-
(i) noted and approved the initiatives detailed in paragraphs 6.2 and 6.4 of the report currently being taken by the Social Work Department to develop child protection services in line with recommendations in recent child protection inquiry reports and the National Child Protection Audit and Review Report; and
(ii) noted and approved the initiatives detailed in paragraphs 6.3 and 6.5 of the report being taken by Dundee Child Protection Committee in response to the recommendations of the independent review of the Committee and its core activities.
