The minute of meeting of this Committee of 18th August 2003 was held as read.

 

Unless marked thus * all items stand delegated.

 

I MINOR CAPITAL AND PLANNED MAINTENANCE WORKS 2003-2004

 

There was submitted Report No 568-2003 by the Director of Social Work seeking approval for the City Architectural Services Officer to obtain offers and tenders, and for the Depute Chief Executive (Support Services) in conjunction with the Director of Social Work to accept these offers and tenders for Minor Capital Works up to a total cost of 31,150.

 

The Committee agreed:-

 

(i)that the City Architectural Services Officer be authorised to obtain offers and tenders for the Minor Capital and Planned Maintenance Works; and

 

(ii)that the Depute Chief Executive (Support Services), in conjunction with the Director of Social Work be authorised to accept the offers and tenders as recommended by the City Architectural Services Officer for these works.

 

II MENZIESHILL HOUSE RHE - REPLACEMENT (PARTNERING)

 

There was submitted Joint Report No 615-2003 by the Director of Social Work and the City Architectural Services Officer seeking approval for the replacement of Menzieshill House RHE with a new building on an adjacent site.

 

The Committee agreed:-

 

(i)that the proposed replacement of Menzieshill House RHE on an adjacent site at Earn Crescent, Dundee at a total cost of 2.8 million inclusive of fees be approved; and

 

(ii)that the City Architectural Services Officer be authorised to negotiate a contract not exceeding 2.8 million under a partnering arrangement with Muirfield (Contracts) Ltd, Dundee and the Depute Chief Executive (Support Services) in conjunction with the Director of Social Work to issue an acceptance for this contract.

 

III CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES NATIONAL CONFERENCE (

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN422-2003 on the Criminal Justice Services National Conference to be held at the Hilton Hotel, Dunblane on 20th and 21st November, 2003.

 

The Committee agreed that elected member representation at this conference be one member from the Administration, one member from the SNP Group and one member from the Conservative Group at a cost of 290 per delegate excluding travel and subsistence allowances.
