I NURSERY NURSES DISPUTE
There was submitted Agenda Note AN402-2003 advising that members of the SNP Group had requested a special meeting of the Personnel and Management Services Committee in terms of Standing Order 50(2).
After discussion, and after hearing a representative from Unison, the Committee agreed to remit the Chief Executive, the Leader of the Administration and appropriate Conveners (Education, Social Work, Personnel and Management Services and Finance) to continue discussions with the appropriate Trade Unions within the Nursery Nurses' dispute subject to Committee approval and in accordance with the National Agreement.
The Committee further agreed that until a National Settlement had been arrived at, local discussions continue to take place with a view to strike action being called off and that this was vital in order to protect younger children's education and social development.
