I CASES SUB-COMMITTEE
On a reference to Article I of the minute of meeting of 19th August, 2002, there was submitted Agenda Note AN254-2003 reporting that the Committee was required to set up a Cases Sub-Committee the remit of which would be to consider individual cases in terms of relevant legislation and policy across client groups.
The Committee agreed that places be allocated on the basis of two members of the Administration, one member of the SNP Group and one member of the Conservative Group.
II CHILD AND FAMILY CENTRES WORKING GROUP
On a reference to Article VI of the minute of meeting of 17th December, 2001, there was submitted Agenda Note AN255-2003 reporting that the Committee was required to set up a Child and Family Centres Working Group, the remit of which would be to examine current child and family centre provision and projected needs and resource requirements.
The Committee agreed that places be allocated on the basis of three members of the Administration, three members of the SNP Group and one member of the Conservative Group.
III HEALTH AND LOCAL AUTHORITY FORUM
On a reference to Article I of the minute of meeting of 21st October, 2002, there was submitted Agenda Note AN256-2003 reporting that the Committee was required to set up a Dundee Health and Local Authority Forum, the remit of which would be to be responsible for all community care and related health services for adults in Dundee and public health and the health improvement agenda in Dundee.
The Committee agreed that places be allocated on the basis of the Convener of the Social Work Committee, the Convener of the Housing Committee, one member of the SNP Group and one member of the Conservative Group.
IV STANDARD CHARGES FOR LOCAL AUTHORITY RESIDENTIAL UNITS
There was submitted Report No 339-2003 by the Director of Social Work on the proposed level of standard charge to be applied in 2003/2004 for local authority residential accommodation for adults.
The Committee agreed that standard charges for local authority residential accommodation be applied as detailed in the report.
V CONTINUATION OF SURE START STRATEGY AND IMPLEMENTATION
There was submitted Joint Report No 345-2003 by the Director of Education and the Director of Social Work seeking approval to take forward Sure Start Dundee for the period April 2003 - March 2004 to enhance and extend support provision for children aged 0-3 and their families.
The Committee agreed:-
(i) that the continuation of the Sure Start Strategy as outlined in the report be approved;
(ii) that proposals for expenditure of Sure Start funding in the financial year 2003/2004 be approved; and
(iii) that the Director of Education and Director of Social Work be remitted to liaise with the Director of Personnel and Management Services on the continued deployment of staff involved in the Sure Start initiatives for the period of these proposals.
VI SOCIAL WORK DEPARTMENT - APPOINTMENT OF STRATEGY AND PERFORMANCE MANAGER
There was submitted Agenda Note AN257-2003 reporting that Ms Jenni Tocher had been appointed to the post of Manager of Strategy and Performance within the Social Work Department.
The Committee noted the appointment of Ms Tocher to this position and that she would also deputise for the Director of Social Work in his absence.
