Door Stewards Registration Sub-committee - 24/02/2003

At a MEETING of the DOOR STEWARDS REGISTRATION SUB-COMMITTEE held at Dundee on 24th February 2003.

I LICENSING (SCOTLAND) ACT 1976 - REGULAR EXTENSION - APPLICATIONS FOR DOOR STEWARDREGISTRATION (PROVISIONAL)

In the case of Application Nos 3, 4, 6, 8 and 10 the Sub-Committee having been advised that the applicants were not present agreed that the applications be dealt with in their absence.

 

After consideration of letters which had been submitted by the Chief Constable and observations from the representative of Tayside Police, the Sub-Committee agreed that the applications be refused.

 

In the case of Application No 1 the Sub-Committee having given consideration to a letter which had been submitted by the Chief Constable and from the applicant on his own behalf agreed to grant the application.

 

In the case of Application No 2 the Sub-Committee having been advised that the applicant was not present agreed that the application be dealt with in their absence.

 

After giving consideration to a letter which had been submitted by the Chief Constable and a letter from an agent on behalf of the applicant the Sub-Committee agreed that the applicant's registration be revoked.

 

In the case of Application No 5 the Sub-Committee having given consideration to a letter that had been submitted from the Chief Constable and heard from the applicant on their own behalf agreed to take no action.

 

In the case of Application No 7 the Sub-Committee gave consideration to a letter which had been submitted by the Chief Constable relating to this application. Part of the letter referred to convictions which were spent in terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and after hearing the Chief Constable's representative as to their age and nature, the Sub-Committee agreed they be considered since justice could not otherwise be done.

 

Thereafter, having heard the applicant on their own behalf the Sub-Committee agreed to grant the application.

 

In the case of Application No 9 the Sub-Committee gave consideration to a letter which had been submitted by the Chief Constable relating to this application. In the case of Application No 11 the Sub-Committee having given consideration to a letter which had been submitted by the Chief Constable and having heard from the Chief Constable's representative and from the applicant on their own behalf agreed that the applicant's registration be revoked.

 

II DOOR STEWARD TRAINING

 

The Sub-Committee agreed that where door stewards possess only a provisional registration and as it is a requirement to gain full registration door stewards falling into this category will have their licences revoked if they do not obtain full registration by 31st May, 2003 by attending the appropriate training course
