I UPDATE ON THE FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS OF THE DUNDEE SCHOOLS CAPITAL PROJECT
On a reference to Article I of the minute of meeting of the Education Committee of 31st March, 2003, the Committee considered Report No 260-2003 by the Chief Executive and Director of Finance and agreed to:-
(i)proceed with the PPP project as adjusted within the report and detailed in Appendix 3 of the report; and
(ii)the financial adjustments and revised funding proposals as outlined within paragraph 9 of the report in respect of those Schools Capital Projects which were not included within the PPP project.
II STOCKTAKE OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT PENSION SCHEME
Councillors Macpherson and Rolfe declared an interest and took no part in the discussion thereof.
Councillors Regan, Shimi, Ward, Bowes, Dave Beattie, Borthwick, de Gernier, Farquhar and Presswood declared an interest only.
On a reference to Article II of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 17th March, 2003, there was submitted Report No 237-2003 by the Directors of Finance and Personnel and Management Services detailing the Council's proposed response to the consultation exercise undertaken by the Local Government Pension Committee (LGPC) in relation to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister's (ODPM) Stocktake of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
In addition, letters from the Trade Unions commenting on the consultation exercise were submitted for consideration.
The Committee approved the answers shown in Appendix 1 of the report as the basis of the Council's response to the consultation exercise and remitted the Director of Finance to reply to both the LGPC and the ODPM.
