II PERTH PRISON (INCLUDING FRIARTON) VISITING COMMITTEE

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN60-2002 intimating that notification had been received from the Scottish Prison Service that the membership of the above Committee had been increased to 19 members following the decision to discontinue the Friarton Prison Visiting Committee. The Council noted at the present time the Council representation comprised seven members, being three members of the Majority Group, one member of the Major Opposition Group and one member of the Minority Group together with two non-elected members and therefore a further two members required to be appointed.

 

The Council agreed that the Rev Stuart McMillan and Mr Graham Fraser be appointed.

III DUNDEE PUBLIC HOLIDAYS 2003

 

On a reference to Article II of the minute of meeting of the City Council of 11th February, 2002 there was submitted Agenda Note AN61-2002 together with a letter dated 4th April, 2002 from Dundee Trades Union Council and a letter dated 24th April, 2002 from Rory Malone the Branch Secretary, Unison seeking the retention of the traditional Victoria Day holiday.

 

The Council agreed to fix the undernoted dates in accordance with the usual custom and practice.
