I BUILDING PERSONAL AND COMMUNITY CAPACITY - ALLOCATION OF RESOURCES 2002/2004
There was submitted Report No. 279-2002 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development advising the Committee on funds secured by the Neighbourhood Resources and Development Department from external sources to take forward building personal and community capacity.
The Committee noted the award of European Social Fund (ESF), European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Empowering Communities (EC) and Scottish Executive Literacy Funding (SELF) as detailed in Appendix A and the delivery targets agreed with the funders as detailed in Appendix B of the report.
II AMENDMENTS TO MODEL CONSTITUTION - CHARLESTON AND ARDLER LOCAL MANAGEMENT GROUPS
There was submitted Report No. 280-2002 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development seeking approval for specific amendments to the standard model constitution for local neighbourhood centre management groups as approved by the Neighbourhood Resources and Development Committee on 9 June, 1997 (Article No. 111 refers).
The Committee agreed to the following recommendations:-
(a)to approve changes to the model constitution as outlined in Paragraph 7.1.1 to 7.1.6 for Ardler and Charleston Management Groups.
(b)to commission a further report on the review of the existing Service Level Agreement content to strengthen Council obligations over governance guidelines.
III ADULT EDUCATION SUPPORT FUND 2001/2002
There was submitted agenda note AN14-2002 stating that during the period April 2001 to March 2002 a total of 9,904.92 had been awarded to support adult learning in the community. The awards were allocated as follows:-

In all cases, individuals were either not working or in low paid part-time work and would have experienced difficulty in undertaking or continuing with vocational courses of study, in many cases representing a first step qualification.

IV GRANT AWARDS UP TO £500 2001/2002
There was submitted Report No. 281-2002 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development detailing awards up to the value of 500 that were made during the financial year 2001/2002.
The Committee noted the payments as detailed in the report.
V NON-RECURRING REVENUE GRANTS FUND VIII 2001/2002
There was submitted Report No. 282-2002 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development making a recommendation for a grant award from the Non-Recurring Revenue Grants Fund. The grant award would be met from the Department's revenue budget 2001/2002.
The Committee approved payment of the recommended grant of 1,600 to the Boys' Brigade Dundee Battalion.
VI ADULT EDUCATION FUND I 2002/2003
There was submitted Report No. 283-2002 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development making a recommendation for a grant award from the Adult Education Fund. The grant award would be met from the Department's revenue budget 2002/2003.
The Committee approved payment of the recommended grant of 600 to the Harris Education and Recreation Association.
VII ADULT LEARNERS' WEEK
There was submitted agenda note AN15-2002 reporting that Adult Learners' Week 2002 would take place between 11th and 18th May.
The Committee approved the release of 1,000 from the Neighbourhood Resources and Development Adult Education Support Fund to support events and functions which related to Adult Learners' Week 2002.
