I SOCIAL INCLUSION PARTNERSHIP 1 AND 2 (GEOGRAPHIC) ALLOCATION OF FUNDING 2001/2002
There was submitted Report No. 192-2002 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development reporting that he, in consultation with the Convener and spokespersons from the Major and Minority Opposition Groups, had approved grant applications as detailed in the report so that urgent works could be progressed.
The Committee noted accordingly.
II SOCIAL INCLUSION PARTNERSHIP - ALLOCATION OF RESOURCES 2001/2002
There was submitted Report No. 208-2002 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development bringing forward proposals for the further allocation of Social Inclusion Partnerships 1 and 2 revenue funding and awards from the Small Grants Fund.
The Committee approved the following recommendations:-
(a)To note the recommendations of the Dundee Partnership Community Regeneration Group in the further allocation of SIP 1 and SIP 2 revenue funding for 2001/2002 as detailed in Section 6 and Appendices A and B of the report.
(b)To agree the award of Social Inclusion Partnership 1 Small Grants as detailed in Appendix C of the report.
(c)To note the Dundee Partnership recommendation to request the carry forward of underspend in the SIP 2 programme.
III THE PARTICIPATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN DECISION-MAKING
There was submitted Report No. 200-2002 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development advising the Committee on progress achieved in the development of the participation of young people in decision-making and in particular the development of Youth Voice and involvement with the Scottish Youth Parliament. The report also made recommendations about the future development of Youth Voice as an approved Youth Council for Dundee.
The Committee approved the role of Youth Voice (see paragraph 6.2 of the report), the principles underpinning Council involvement with young people and their participation in decision-making (see paragraph 6.3 of the report) and the financial support arrangements (see paragraph 7.4 of the report).
IV INTERNATIONAL YOUTH WORK FUND II 2001/2002
There was submitted Report No. 201-2002 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development making a recommendation for a grant award from the International Youth Work Fund. The grant award would be met from the Department's revenue budget 2001/2002.
The Committee approved payment of the recommended grant of 1,000 to the Diocese of Dunkeld Youth Service (Dundee area).
V NATIONAL ORGANISATIONS FUND VI 2001/2002
There was submitted Report No. 202-2002 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development making a recommendation for a grant award from the National Organisations Fund. The grant award would be met from the Department's revenue budget 2001/2002.
The Committee approved payment of the recommended grant of 450 to YouthLink Scotland (National Partners in Voluntary Work).
