I THE REGULATION OF CARE (SCOTLAND) ACT 2001

 

There was submitted Report No 59-2002 by the Director of Social Work advising the Committee of the implementation of the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001, the main areas of provision within the Act, and its implications for Dundee City Council.

 

The Committee agreed to note and approve the contents of this report, and remitted to the Director of Social Work to prepare for the registration of social work services as required under the Act.

 

II WHITETOP POOL, PERTH ROAD - RECOMMISSIONING OF POOL

 

There was submitted Report No 60-2002 by the Director of Social Work seeking approval for the City Architectural Services Officer to negotiate with a specialist contractor to obtain an offer for the recommissioning of the swimming and hydrotherapy pool at the Whitetop Centre and for the Director of Support Services in conjunction with the Director of Social Work to accept the negotiated offer recommended by the City Architectural Services Officer.

 

The Committee agreed that:-

 

(i)The City Architectural Services Officer be authorised to negotiate with a specialist contractor to obtain an offer for the recommissioning work; and

 

(ii)The Director of Support Services, in conjunction with the Director of Social Work, be authorised to accept the offer recommended by the City Architectural Services Officer.
